- NOTE: The British Library have a copy of Leigh's first edition and states it was published by Hutchinson (London), 1952 with 232 pages. I notice that Hurst & Blackett and Hutchinson also had several books published under the Valentine imprint. Did they own Valentine? The Valentine Romance Club (note: readers often call it the Valentine Romance Book Club) appears to have published reprints from, at least, the mid-1950s to the 1970s. The address in this book is 5 & 6 St. Andrew's Hill, Carter Lane, London, E. C. 4.

- NOTE: This book contains strips which originally appeared with nudity. They are presented uncensored unlike in the 1975 reprint above. But the female lead character featured on the colour cover wears a bikini top which is not part of the strip. This was possibly an in-house editorial addition, not drawn by FB. Also the title of the third strip is actually "People of the Abyss" - without the 'The'. "The Beast of Ultor" story is missing several episodes: the missing episodes are H61, H62 (page 53), H65 (page 54), H77, H78, H79 (page70), H116 (page 77/78).
